Corsets
Corsets can give any woman a perfect hourglass figure. An overbust corset gives definition to the whole upper body, shrinking the waist size and pushing the bust upwards. An underbust corset just nips the waist inwards. These can be worn as underwear, or over a blouse or top to act as a tight belt.
Formal Corset Dresses
These feature a corset as the top half of the dress, sometimes hidden and sometimes as a feature of the dress. The boning of the corset sucks the tummy in to create a smaller waist, sometimes by a few inches. The look of a formal corset dress can be seductive or stylish.
Victorian Corsets
Traditional Victorian corsets would be bulky, heavy garments that would cover the wearer from below the waist and would encourage a gentle hourglass curve. They would be tightly bound with ribbons or nylon cord at the back, and would be laced up as tightly as possible, sometimes causing pressure on the abdomen. Thankfully, today’s corsets are made of more forgiving, comfortable material.
Sexy Corsets
A sexy corset as underwear typically has less material than the traditional Victorian or Elizabethan corset, and may only just cover the waist and lower part of the bust. They are normally paired with suspenders and stockings.
Corsets for Men
The male body is very different in physical makeup than women. This is always a good thing; however it makes male corsets a unique clothing item, and not that easy for your average man to simply buy and wear a ladies corset. There are specialist suppliers of male corsets for everyday wear for example the 'Amadeo' collection where the corset is made from a jacquard-woven silk with 'Paisley-pattern' can be worn out with normal formal clothes.
Remember male or female we all want a perfect hourglass figure so maybe we all need corsets or Basques in our underwear collection.
