Stockings
It would be hard to find a straight man who didn’t think stockings were sexy. Pretty legs in stockings have been a staple of men’s fantasies since they were invented. The term stockings refers to the type of hosiery that needs a suspender belt, whereas hold-ups stay up on their own (hence the name) with the aid of a strip of rubbery material around the top.
Sexy Stockings
Stockings are generally seen as sexier than tights, perhaps because the rigmarole of wearing a pair of stockings and a suspender belt makes this type of underwear more of a rare treat. Stocking tops can also be embellished with frills and ribbons, adding a touch of girly glamour, and a garter can be added too.
And of course, the fact that the top of the thigh is exposed gives a sexy look without being too revealing. The idea of stockings being sexy probably also stems from the fifties glamour look: sexy but classy at the same time, with just the right amount of flesh on show.
Seamed Stockings
Stockings with a seam running up the back are now firmly back in fashion, thanks to celebrities like the Pussycat Dolls and Dita Von Teese popularising their own brands of burlesque entertainment. Seamed stockings recall the 1940s era and women in pencil skirts and heels, poised and elegant, rather than the more modern image of a stripper in stockings.
Stockings and High Heels
A pair of pretty legs in stockings just wouldn’t be the same without high heels. Heels accentuate the calf muscle and make legs look longer and slimmer, as well as forcing the wearer to walk in a way that seems more feminine, with hips swinging and a straight back. Many women love wearing high heels for the feeling of empowerment and femininity they give.
